Sometimes, the Place You Belong Isn't Where You Began...With an accounting degree that's getting her nowhere, Chloe Malinski spends her nights waitressing and her days housesitting in a neighborhood that's infinitely beyond her reach or comfort zone. But she knows all too well that no one wants a pauper in their mansion, so she's gotten good - maybe a little too good - at faking it 'til she makes it.

Unbelonging a New Adult Romance Novel Sabrina Stark 9780615945699 Books

4.5 out of 5
Unbelonging took a premise that's been written to death and added a fresh spin. Rich boy meets poor girl and falls in love. I loved both characters, but Chloe could get annoying. She was out to destroy her own happiness at every turn. Though Lawton could be just as bad. Two damaged people who refuse to believe happiness is possible.
Some of the created angst seemed unlikely, but when added to how damage they both are, how they've been hurt, it's not that surprising. People they trusted before betrayed them.
The side characters were great and just this side of over done. Britney, the stepmother were just horrible people. I loved the grandmother, she was really funny.
Unfortunately, it ended with a cliffhanger, but both books are already out.

Unbelonging a New Adult Romance Novel Sabrina Stark 9780615945699 Books Reviews

Chloe, the female main character, is an idiot. She fights to perpetuate her facade, in which Lawton believes she's a rich girl living next door to him, but in actuality she's.house sitting. She covers up for truly awful people to make herself continue to appear rich when she's not. She is so stupid I cannot believe she has a college degree. No 👎 - I cannot begin to tell you how I regret buying these books! No real young woman of average intelligence and integrity would jave made the decisions she did. She is absurd.
I can't stand a book with stupid girls and their lack of communication. That's what this book felt like and I was extremely disappointed. "What's wrong?" "Nothing." "What happened?" "It's stupid. Nothing." Every chapter had her arguing with someone, or doing something stupid, or even something innocent, and to try to prevent any repercussions she doesn't do anything! That's not a story to me. It had some really great highs and lows but the lack of communication just ruined it for me. Love stories are built on relationships and I felt like they didn't have a close enough one to go down the road they went. I'm so sad this book wasn't what I expected.
I Love when I am looking on and find a book that stands out to me, it might now have very many reviews yet, and the author is brand new, you find them on Facebook as well, because you have to know what's coming next from them. This is what I have found with new author Sabrina Stark. She has taken us on a journey that won't be forgotten anytime soon.

Chloe, is trying very hard to get a job in her field of accounting, she is working as a waitress, takes a job watching a dog, watching a house, and feeding the plants at there scheduled feeding times, yes that's right PLANTS. who does things like that... OH yeah the Rich people she is house sitting for. Chloe knows that she can't compete with the women that are walking in and out of Lawton's house, but she also doesn't try. but thanks to Chucky a bad boy Yorkie she gets to know him better then most people. she knows that if she lets him get close to her he will hurt her, but sometimes you can't help who you fall for.

Lawton Rastor is the very picture of Bad boy playboy, he has the looks, he has the money, he has the swag to get anything or anyone that he wants and he wants Chloe. the only problem is he doesn't really get the whole story when it comes to Chloe, between jumping to conclusions, and the info that his brother is feeding him about her he really truly might have lost the one thing he always wanted. He can be himself with Chloe, he doesn't have to be ON all the time, he can watch her make a fool of herself and still laugh at her, and with her. He knows really Nothing about her, he thinks she is the daughter or the mistress of the rich older guy that lives next door. But when things go wrong and he blames her for something that she has nothing to do with, he hurts her, and she is willing to walk away to never have to deal with it again!

I can't wait for the next book of this series, and I really hope that certain characters in the story will get what is coming to her.
You know when you finish a book you really loved and enjoyed and all you want to do is re-read it again? Well i definitely dont see this ever happening for this book.

I really don't see what the characters saw in each other. Most of the time i felt like we were just reading about what Chloe thought and I wished there was more dialogue between all the characters. Then when there was dialogue, it just seemed very repetitive and immature.

Most of the book you were in Chloe's head and its not the most interesting place to be. i skipped some of the boring descriptions and i even skim read the sex part! I found myself just skimming pages just to read it much faster.

The entire book was built on Chloe not being able to just admit the truth. I didnt understand why she didnt just say "Hey Im Chloe, the Housesitter" from the beginning. What was the big deal?? So what if your just the House-sitter? And yes i understand the non disclosure agreement but thats for her to not blab to random people. Lawton was a fellow neighbor, who she knew she could trust but was to ashamed for some stupid reason. I guess i could see why the author did that, because with that out in the open. There would be no book. No drama to keep the angst going. Nothing. But that to me just makes it so silly. Also makes the story very weak when you think about how it only hold together through this lie.

One thing i will give the Author credit for is keeping Lawton and Bishop (Especially Bishop) a mystery that i want to solve. I know she did this on purpose so that we will buy Bishop's story. Normally i wouldn't mind this tactic, but im afraid it wont work this time. Im so scared its going to be another semi boring book with a immature plot.
