I have read this book to my son almost every night of his life (he's 5 1/2).
I even read it to him nightly when he was still in my belly (he's my first). I know this by heart and would recite this to him when the lights were out and he was having trouble winding down. I read this in a steady, low tone. Gets him every time. Came on here to buy another copy, ours is taped up and some pages are very sad looking. This book will always hold a special place in my heart.
This was given to me as a gift for my son by an English teacher. My son and I loved it so much, he even began asking for this story. I loved it so much that I bought it for my sister and a friend as a baby shower gift. It is a wonderful story and helps with setting routines. The art work is also very beautiful. I highly recommend it.
